CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing

Who is it for?

The CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing is a Level 6 qualification that’s ideal for senior marketing executives and marketing managers who are responsible for managing the marketing process at an operational level, as well as those who are looking to build on the knowledge gained at Professional Certificate level with a future marketing management role in mind.

What will you learn?

The diploma gives you the required knowledge, skills and understanding at management level to take a strategic approach to marketing planning. By understanding key marketing metrics and measurement techniques you will be able to interpret relevant insight and make informed strategic decisions.

What are the components?

The Diploma in Professional Marketing comprises 3 modules (2 mandatory and 1 elective). Successful completion of all 3 modules earns you the CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing. Alternatively you can study modules individually to gain a bite size award in that topic.

Learning is designed to be flexible so you can study the units at your own pace and in any order. Tuition is delivered part-time, one evening per week and you have a choice of studying in either Belfast or Coleraine.

Bite Size Awards: Each module can be achieved as a distinct, self-contained award which can be built up to attain the full diploma.

Full Qualification: To achieve the qualification, a pass in BOTH mandatory modules is required together with a pass in one of the elective modules.

The level 6 award in Strategic Marketing shows you how to take a strategic approach in marketing planning to achieve competitive advantage. You will learn the importance of all stages within the marketing planning process. This award comprises three units:

  3. Implementation and control

Mastering Metrics (Mandatory)

The Level 6 award in Mastering Metrics examines the importance of managing marketing data and using a range of measurement techniques can enable organisations to achieve marketing insights and strategic decision-making. This award comprises three units:

  1. Metrics and analytics
  2. Measuring effectiveness
  3. Analytics for decision-making

Elective Modules

Digital Strategy (Elective)

The level 6 award in Digital Strategy provides insight into how organisations can implement digital marketing capabilities into strategic marketing planning and examines how the management of digital channels and the application of key digital measures help to achieve business objectives. This award comprises three units:

  2. Digital planning
  3. Delivering success

Assessment by portfolio.

Driving Innovation (Elective)

The level 6 award in Driving Innovation outlines the importance of taking a visionary approach. You will learn how to build and nurture innovation throughout the organization and will gain an appreciation of the role of internal marketing in supporting a culture of innovation . This module comprises three units:

  1. Entrepreneurial marketing
  2. Innovation
  3. The marketing champion
