Belfast Academy of Marketing was established in 2012 by Frank McKee. You can find out more about Frank and all our team here. Belfast Academy of Marketing’s objective is to professionalise marketing on the island of Ireland through providing CIM professional marketing qualifications supported by practical subject-matter training delivered by industry experts & marketing practitioners.

The team consist of marketing practitioners who have all studied CIM – either taught by Frank or one of our associates at Belfast Academy of Marketing – we even have the significant knowledge and expertise of Frank’s own CIM tutor!

For now we deliver all our classes online. We can deliver in-house for your marketing team or organise a team training day out within your local area.

CIM are the only body to hold the Royal Charter for Marketers to become chartered, much like a chartered accountant or chartered surveyor, for example. They are the only globally recognised organisation who support marketers through qualifications, training & resources. You can read more here: https://www.cim.co.uk/about-cim/

CIM qualifications start at Level 3, which in the UK is the equivalent to an A Level and progress to Level 7 which is the equivalent to a master’s degree.

How do I know which level to complete?

Each qualification has its own suggested entry criteria set by CIM as per the table below however the best way for us to map you to a qualification is by helping us understand your previous experience and qualifications so we can map you to the correct level of study.

Level 7 is not included as Belfast Academy of Marketing do not currently offer any qualifications at this level.

Costs are made up of 3 parts;

Tuition & Support – this is to provide your content by way of slide decks, classes, out of class support, feedback on your assignment, supporting resources etc.

CIM Membership – If you aren’t already a CIM member you will need to make sure you have membership in place to study a CIM qualification. You can find out more about CIM memberships here: *link to CIM Memberships*

CIM Assessment fees – for each qualification you will complete an assessment by way of assignment, examination or portfolio. There is a fee payable to CIM to submit this and for CIM to mark it and return a result.

There may be other fees applicable for things like resits, additional support, deferrals, late booking but we will be transparent about any fees you may incur before you make any decisions or payments.

We are approved to provide CIM qualifications via face to face, online or virtual learning. We were the first Accredited Study Centre to deliver qualifications via virtual and remote learning and have a proven record of excellent results.

Virtual learning basically means you aren’t sitting in a physical classroom with other students. There is no expectation of you showing up to evening classes every week or travelling outside of your local area. 

We use Zoom or Microsoft Teams to deliver our classes.

We provide all the same as a classroom; You get access to the exact same resources and either recordings of the classes or audio PowerPoints to complement your own reading and learning. Our tutors are experienced in supporting students who choose virtual or online learning as their preferred delivery method.

Online learning means you will study your classes using pre-recorded classes. We have all the same resources, and you get the same post class support from our tutor team.

It gives you more flexibility with how you manage your time as we know life often has many unforeseen obstacles.

We have payment options to suit everyone. You can choose to pay with card directly on our website, we can raise you or your employer an invoice for a BACs payment or bank transfer. If you are self-funding your study we can also support you with paying by monthly instalment.

Your CIM membership and assessment fees are separate to this and must be arranged directly with CIM.

All our live classes need a minimum number of people to run. If these numbers aren’t met, you will be offered the class via online learning or the option to wait until the class becomes available in a live format.

Since 2020 we have seen a significant increase in requests for online learning and we have also maintained our 100% pass rate in these modules – so please be assured that the outcome of your qualification will remain the same.
